Eric Gilchrist Jazz Quintet - Jazz Band Greater London

The quintet can provide mellow and sophisticated jazz standards from the great American songwriters such as Irving Berlin, Gershwin and Cole Porter, plus bossas and gentle Latin rhythms.
Ideal for listening or to provide relaxed background music. When livelier more up beat music is required the quintet can play swing, jive and blues to get everyone onto their feet and dancing.
All the musicians are professional and are highly regarded on the London jazz scene.
All have accompanied well-known jazz artists, musicians and entertainers in clubs and cabaret.

The quintet can dress in white or black DJ’s or smart casual clothes.

Harvey Weston - Double Bass

Harvey has been a professional musician all his working life and has played with many of the American legends of jazz, both in London and Europe - musicians such as Jimmy Witherspoon and Mose Allison. He was also bassist with Georgie Fame, Paul Jones and Elaine Delmar.

Martin Blackwell - Keyboards

Martin is regarded as one of Europe’s finest jazz musicians having played piano with many of the world’s leading jazz personalities, including Art Farmer, Barney Kessell, James Moody and many more. Also pianist with the Ronnie Scott quintet for several years as well as with Dick Morrissey and Jim Mullen’s jazz rock group.

Steve Rushton - Drums

Steve is a sought after drummer in London playing with jazz groups and in the West End theatre. He toured the UK and Europe with the successful show 'Five Guys named Mo' based on the music of Louis Jordan. He hs also played, toured and recorded with Ray Gelato’s Jazz Giants and various other well-known UK jazz musicians.

Max Brittain - Guitar

Max Brittain has performed in all the major UK concert venues and toured extensively throughout Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. His jazz career includes work with Ronnie Scott, Humphrey Lyttleton Al Grey, Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis and Charlie Byrd.

Eric Gilchrist - Sax and Vocals

Eric Gilchrist has played alto sax in London and throughout Europe with various well-known jazz and blues bands, as well as accompanying various American jazz musicians on their tours of Europe. Musicians such as Buddy Tate and Wild Bill Davison.
